The APCO Hybrid combines a classic double-surface profile at the front with a single-surface profile at the rear. It is certified in the EN-B category; according to APCO, all but two manoeuvres were rated EN-A.
Take-off and landing speeds are lower than on comparable wings, according to APCO. The wing is very stable in roll and pitch, and the brakes work with low brake pressure. The missing bottom surface in the rear section saves weight; the canopy weighs from 3 kg.
According to APCO, the concept offers advantages in free flight as well as under power. For powered flying there is a separate version with trim risers (APCO Hybrid Paramotor).
