Apco Karisma II - the light beginner paraglider
We check what fits your flying style, setup and requirements - especially for wings, motors, harnesses, reserves and complete sets.
The APCO Karisma II is a solid, safe and confidence-inspiring EN-A wing designed for training through early cross-country flights. It is built to teach the fundamentals safely and to support progression under a high level of passive safety.
Compared with the previous model, the weight was reduced by approximately 20 percent, or around 1 kg. This improves inflation characteristics and in-flight behaviour. Forward launches in nil wind are easier with or without an engine. The light canopy and clear three-leg riser simplify inflation and ground handling and reduce tangled risers and lines during reverse launches.
The specially developed APP Sharknose profile increases and retains internal canopy pressure across the full speed range. This keeps the wing balanced and supports forgiving, precise handling with strong performance and proven passive safety.
On take-off, the Karisma II rises slowly and controllably overhead. Landing is forgiving and stall resistant, with the flare able to reduce speed substantially. In thermals, the wing banks into a coordinated turn and helps the pilot stay in the core. Across the accelerated range, it provides efficient glide with low sink.
Pilot feedback is direct and easy to understand: the wing is forgiving for beginners and responds precisely when guided correctly. Lightweight materials in the bottom surface and internal structure reduce weight, while the durable APCO top surface supports the life of the wing.
The Karisma II is suitable for training and can accompany pilots through their first cross-country flights. For paramotor use, a dedicated riser version with additional trimmers is available. The lightweight construction helps with nil-wind launches; the exact combination of size, all-up weight, motor setup and training level must be checked before purchase.
