According to APCO, the APCO NRG III is a reflex-freestyle paramotor wing and APCO’s first reflex wing to combine a reinforced shark nose with a zipped Mohawk. With the Mohawk closed it flies dynamically for freestyle, slalom and acro; opened it is more damped and tuned for efficiency and stability in cross-country flight.

The APCO NRG III is a reflex freestyle paramotor wing. It is APCO’s first reflex wing to combine an SAP-reinforced shark nose with a foldable (zipped) Mohawk.

With the Mohawk closed, the wing is very dynamic with fast reactions for freestyle, according to APCO. With the Mohawk open it is more damped and tuned for XC efficiency and stability.

APCO describes the NRG III as a more playful wing for speed and energetic flying, less efficient than the F1.

According to APCO, the NRG III is APCO’s first reflex wing to combine a reinforced shark nose with a zipped Mohawk. APCO describes it as a new reflex-freestyle concept designed for both freestyle and cross-country flying.

Two wings in one: Mohawk open or closed

The zipped Mohawk lets you switch the wing’s character. Closed, the NRG III is, according to APCO, highly dynamic with very quick reactions – aimed at experienced freestyle, slalom and acro pilots. Opened, it becomes more damped yet stays lively and is tuned for efficiency and stability in cross-country flight; APCO calls it fast, agile and roll-stable.

Shark nose and SAP

According to APCO, the Supported Accelerated Profile (SAP) stabilises the leading edge of the profile. Combined with the shark-nose reflex profile, APCO says this results in a considerably more efficient wing without compromising safety.

The reflex profile

According to APCO, the pronounced reflex profile contributes to safety in extreme flight. In the open Mohawk mode, APCO states that the reflex profile also aids collapse resistance, and the wing returns easily from spirals to level flight.

Construction and material

APCO states that it uses tear-resistant ripstop nylon, PU-coated and siliconised for weather resistance. The upper surface, lower surface and ribs use different cloths for their respective tasks. According to APCO, every panel is laser-cut, and the 3D cut gives a clean, well-defined leading edge on the upper surface.

Control and trim

According to APCO, One Action Acceleration® is built into the risers: applying the speed bar also changes the trimmer setting. APCO advises keeping the trimmers at neutral or faster when using the speed bar. APCO states that the dedicated risers widen the speed range of the trimmers while staying within the passive safety limits.
