APCO Viva PM EN-A paramotor wing

The APCO Viva is an EN-A paraglider that APCO describes as a totally new, next-generation design, made for training through to first cross-country flights. APCO’s wing suitability chart rates it fully for school and beginner use, with a share for intermediate and cross-country flying; it is not intended for competition or tandem.

According to APCO, the Mohawk acts as a rudder and improves roll stability and spiral safety with a faster, smoother autonomous exit. The Flow Aligned Ribs (FAR) change direction from centre to tip and follow the airflow; two functional 3D cuts shape the leading edge.

The 3-leg riser (A / A1 / B / C) is designed to simplify inflation for beginners and make big ears straightforward. According to APCO, the shark nose profile (APP) maintains internal pressure across the speed range; when flaring, the wing slows down almost to a standstill.

Light cloth is used for the internal structure and bottom surface; the top surface is APCO’s double siliconized cloth. FLEXON® battens, LDT and Butt Holes 2 complete the construction.

The paramotor version comes with a dedicated set of risers including trimmers and, according to APCO, was thoroughly tested with a paramotor. It is aimed at paramotor schools and pilots looking for easy handling and short ground runs, including in nil wind. In some countries EN-A is still mandatory for schools; reflex wings cannot obtain this certification.
