The APCO F1 MKII is a full-reflex cross-country paramotor wing for experienced pilots and competition. According to APCO it pairs a high aspect ratio with the brand’s widest usable speed range; the Mohawk and Flow Aligned Ribs improve stability and efficiency, and One Action Acceleration reaches top speed in a single motion.

The APCO F1 MKII is a full-reflex cross-country paramotor wing for experienced pilots. APCO places it above the F3 in every respect; its aspect ratio is higher than that of the NRG III and the F3.

According to APCO, the Mohawk acts like a rudder: it improves roll stability and supports autonomous spiral exit. The Flow Aligned Ribs follow the natural airflow and are designed to increase performance and stability throughout the speed range.

The redesigned riser, speed bar and trimmer system ranges from moderate take-off and landing speeds up to 80 km/h in accelerated flight. With the trimmers closed the focus is on thermalling and glide; opening them adds about 15 km/h without the speed bar, according to APCO.

The risers are simpler, lighter and shorter than on the predecessor. Split brake handles separate the main brake from the tip steering.

The bottom surface and ribs use lighter cloth, the top surface APCO’s double siliconized cloth.

The fast cross-country high-performer

APCO calls the F1 MKII „The Fast One“ and presents it as the top of its range for experienced pilots and competition. According to APCO the wing pairs a high aspect ratio with a full reflex profile that is meant to deliver performance and efficiency in a user-friendly package. Safety was the first design priority. APCO says the wing thermals well with the trimmers closed and offers an exceptional glide for a full reflex wing.

Mohawk – stability like a rudder

According to APCO the Mohawk acts as a rudder that improves both roll stability and safety in spirals. APCO credits it with making the wing more agile and efficient in sharp manoeuvres.

Flow Aligned Ribs along the airflow

According to APCO the Flow Aligned Ribs change direction from centre to tip so they follow the natural airflow. APCO says this dramatically reduces parasitic drag, improves lift and enhances stability across the whole speed range.

Trimmers, speed bar and One Action Acceleration

According to APCO, opening the trimmers gives a noticeable speed increase even without the speed bar. APCO describes the usable range of trimmers and speed bar as the widest it has ever built. With One Action Acceleration® the pilot reaches maximum speed in a single motion, APCO says; the manual advises setting the trimmers to neutral before using the speed bar.

Redesigned risers and split brake handles

According to APCO the risers were redesigned from the ground up and are simpler, lighter and shorter, bringing the pilot closer to the canopy. New split brake handles separate the main brake from the tip steering and, APCO says, give finer control and sharper responses.

Cloth, canopy and lines

According to APCO the canopy is made from zero-porosity ripstop nylon, polyurethane-coated and siliconised. The top surface uses double-siliconised cloth, which APCO considers especially important at the leading edge where most lift is generated. The bottom surface and ribs use lighter materials to save weight. APCO says the upper lines use embedded hook-in points made from Dyneema, while parts of the lower lines are unsheathed to reduce drag.

Service and serviceable parts

According to APCO the trimmer webbing is replaceable and intended as a wear item, comparable to brake pads. For replacement lines APCO points to its factory service and in-house line shop.
